The correct name of the above chemical compound is –; ii-Chloro-3,iii-dimethylbutane
ThIs IUPAC name is correct because as per the rule when different substituents are present ,then numbering is washed in such a mode that substituent which comes starting time in the alphabetical gild should gets lower number.Since in alphabetical order chloro comes commencement than methyl therefore the above compund is named every bit 2-Chloro-3,three-dimethylbutane and non 3-Chloro-ii,2-dimethylbutane.As in such naming chloro gets lower number 2 and not 3.

Dear educatee i take already explain this to you lot.Again understand this -- This compound has iii substituents two methyls and ane chlorine. Now according to IUPAC nomenclature, first select the longest concatenation which is of four carbon atoms and numbering of these side concatenation substituents should exist done in alphabatical lodge.Since chloro comes starting time than methyl therefore nosotros have to number the chloro in such a style that it gets lower number than methyl. And then we are numbering it as 2 and methyls as iii,3 because both on third carbon atom and thus its name will be 2-Chloro-iii,3-dimethylbutane,which is correct IUPAC proper noun.First this rule of alphabetical order is applied.Although in such naming you lot might be thinking that everyman locant rule gets violated, but lodge of naming a compound follows a fix of rules in which alphabatical society is followed and and so numbering is done.Promise i am able to clear your doubt.
Besides this i would like to advice you lot to exercise more and more question of IUPAC naming because information technology will give you wide range of questions and you lot will learn how to name the organic compounds.First read all the rules given past the IUPAC in sequence wise and and then motion to the questions. All the very best i am sure y'all will get command over this.

sorry.

3-Chloro-2,2-dimethylbutane is correctx.Numbering is done so that substituents gets minimum number at the first point of deviation(everyman ready of locant)

I am not hold its name should be

3-chloro-two,ii,dimethylbutane.because at no 2 double substitution is there which should be preferred over unmarried substitution.
